Sno-cone and popcorn machines as well as Hannah's lemonade stand in support of Operation Lemonade, benefitting pediatric cancer research, helped keep the children's energy level high (as if sugar was needed!!). Marines donated $90 in 30 minutes to the fundraiser, primarily buying lemonade for the children. I applauded the generosity of the Marines at the time but now I wonder if they weren't exhausted and trying to slow the children down for a minute! I imagine that a room full of excited children is much more demanding than the toughest Drill Sergeant! :)
